Based in Lake Clark National Park, where the remote Neacola Mountains act as a playground and classroom, you’ll learn to master backcountry skiing, using ski touring or snowboard equipment while working with a small group led by an expert mountain guide. The Alaska Ski Mountaineering trip spans 12 days leaving from Anchorage, with 10 days of guided skiing in the Lake Clark National Park. Your first 6 days will be spent training in a spacious base camp, where you’ll learn the techniques and skills you need to ski or snowboard and camp safely in the snow, before heading out on a 4-day ski tour, stopping at camps each night.
