An affordable surf camp just a few minutes away from the protected National Park beach offering cosy accommodation located in a small village, for surfers of all levels.
Our job as a Surf Camp is to teach and amuse you, sharing what is so special about surfing.
The best way to learn how to surf is to be taught by experienced instructors, step by step, day by day, until the next level.
Our Surf Rule
Surfing provides many opportunities and experiences in life, from the places it take us, to the different waves we ride, whilst always inspiring us with ideas for surfboards shapes to make and test... sometimes good, others not... but at least we always have a good time trying it.Living the Surf LifeStyle is about surfing everyday, being in touch with the ocean, nature, enviroment and your surroundings. From feeling the energy of the earth pushing you through cristal and clear water towards the sandy shore to the friendships that are created, the good times, the bonfires, guitar songs and great moments on the beach... then you become a surfer.Whether you learning surfing for the first time or you already rip, our Surf Camp emcopasses everything that surfing is and should be about... to take part in a fun sport and living the LifeStyle.As you progress you will feel better the techniques and the smarter fluid moments with a focused mind in all kind of waves.
We mean: surfing is not simple, but a journey that can be enjoyed at any level, since beginner to advanced levels.

How is the weather?
The weather is good all year round. It rains in winter and spring but not for long. Winter - between 12ºC and 25ºC ; Summer - between 25ºC and 42ºC.
How is the water temperature?
Between August and September the water temperature is pretty cool, about 20ºC to 25ºC., warm enough to go surfing in boardshorts. For those people who get cold easly the best is to use a 3/2mm wetsuit. From November till March you might need a 4/3mm wetsuit if you are not used to colder water.
How are the waves?
The waves are good all year round, better in fall and spring, and bigger in winter. In summer gets a little smaller but pretty consistent to enjoy great sessions.

Which one is the nearest airport?
Faro's Airport is about 180kms far, 2 hours driving a car or 3 hours if you take the train or BUS. Lisbon's Airport is around 160km away and it takes about 1,5 hours driving a car and 3 hours by train or BUS. The tickets costs between 12.00 EUR and 16.00 EUR.
What kind of rooms do you have?
Double/twin and shared rooms are vailable in Alentejo Surf Camp. The shared rooms are shared since 4 to 6 people, not more.
Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?
You can but you dont need to. We provide covers, sheets, pillows and could even lend you a towel if needed. The nights in summer are quite warm, so probably you won't need an extra sleeping bag.
What should I bring?
In Summer (June to September) the water is usually warm, so all you need is a pair of trunks and a summer wetsuit, sunglasses and lots of sun screen, towels, reef shoes or sandals and a cap are definitely good stuff for your journey. In winter (November to April) we recommend you to bring a 4/3mm wetsuit or an glued stitched winter wetsuit. If you are coming on summer and arriving on the weekend, we suggest you to bring some cash with you. During the high season frequently the cash machines are empty on weekends and will be available just working. Its important to bring also a warm sweater / jumper to dress up after surfing on early evening, during the night comes the humidity and might get a bit "fresh" on a t-shirt... and your muscules need to rest warm. In case you forget or don't have room enough on your luggage, just order one of Alentejo Surf Camp jumper and thats it!
Is the equipment included?
If you choose the Full Surf Course Package YES, all the equipment is included along your stay. You can also bring your own equipment but that might be extra costs, depending on your Air carrier.
Can someone fix my board over there?
Yes, we do! We have all the tools to repair surfboards. You can do it buy yourself or just ask us!
Are you training courses for beginners and people who have never surfed before?
The objective of Alentejo Surf Camp is to teach and amuse, giving you the chance to take part in such a cool sport. So, the training courses are available for he whole levels, everyone, for those who already rip, for those who want to improve technique and for who wants just to start to lear how to surf. If you have never surfed before don't worry, come over and we will teach you.
If I want to buy a surfboard or a wetsuit, can you help me?
Of course yes. There is a few surfshops in town that we work with. Or just let us know what board/wetsuit do you want and we contact our delaers to check availability.
How to get there
The basic transfers are included in the package only between Sines and VN Milfontes within a radius of + -40 km that will be working since the 8:00 to 22:00 every day of the week. After this time, guests should use a taxi to come to the surfcamp (the taxi can be booked by us, providing that request in advance). To arrive in these villages, landed at Lisbon or Faro airports, customers should use the Portuguese Bus or Train network (2.5 hours/15 € until Sines or VN Milfontes), or provide our special services. Specials services - pick up/drop of guests at the airports (Lisbon or Faro), if the service will be provided in advance (working all the time). Prices- 40€/person (minimum 2 people/trip; Group prices available; no taxes included)
Follow A2 in direction of Algarve until the exit Sines. Follow the IC33 and after the IP 8 until Sines and then the IC4 and the N390 until Vila Nova de MilFontes. For those who arrives in Lisbon Airport the best way to reach us is by National coach, safety, comfortable and cheap. The BUS stops right in town and costs only 16€.
Arriving in FARO Airport the best way to reach us is by train, direct trip. For those who prefer to travel by BUS, first will have to reach Lagos by train and then straight to us by National COACH. The BUS stops right in town and costs only 12,50€.
For those who are in Seville and want to reach us the best is to book a International COACH from Seville to Lagos, by EVA BUS (per 20€) or to book a National COACH from Lagos to VILA NOVA DE MILFONTES (per 12,50€)
