Amenities & Activities

Resort SPA Services

Inspired by the healing traditions of Central America, the Spa at Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica pulsates with deeply nurturing, inspiring and vibrant energy. Complementing the active lifestyle that Costa Rica awakens, the Resort's Spa, which features 18 treatment rooms, is a world-class destination for healing and renewal, self-discovery and reconnection.

Consider this your oasis for inner and outer health, conveniently nestled in the purity and serenity of nature on the Papagayo Peninsula.

Golf Course

Your experience begins atop one of Peninsula Papagayo’s highest plateaus, overlooking the jewelled waters of Bahía de Culebra. Spectacular water views await you at 14 of the 18 holes. The signature hole, number 6, El Bajo, features a dramatic 446-yard par-4 with a tee shot that plays 61 metres (200 feet) downhill to a receptive valley-shaped fairway. The green is perched out on a cliff with the ocean behind it, and your round will culminate on the scenic 18th green, with views of the Pacific Ocean and Bahía de Culebra.

Four Seasons Costa Rica Golf Club at Peninsula Papagayo is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Endorsed by the United States Golf Association, this program provides information and excellence to help golf courses preserve and enhance wildlife habitat and protect national resources. The course, not only set amid crystalline waters but also deep green forests, has labelled important trees, turning the cart path into a botanical garden. Hole to hole, the course offers a chance to see and appreciate a diversity of colourful plant, tree, bird and animal species. The congo (howler) and capuchin (white-faced) monkeys are among visitors' favourites.

The Resort offers a driving range, a sand-bunker practice area and putting and chipping greens. Players can enjoy one or both of our two complimentary weekly clinics, and professional private instruction is available seven days a week.

Trail of Giants

This guided tour through the tropical dry forest surrounding the golf course is certified by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The forest is home to endangered birds, monkeys, iguanas, butterflies – and over 25 species of giant tree. Learn about the exotic flora and fauna of Costa Rica while enjoying the lush forests and awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.

Hiking

Providing a convenient opportunity to witness nature in the Costa Rican forest, the Resort offers its own hiking trail. The route extends approximately 1 kilometres (0.6 miles) from the beach on one side of the Peninsula up the hillside and down to the beach on the other side. The stairs and pathways are well-maintained and prove an exerting challenge for hikers.
