Freeride Week La Grave

France: Isére

Experience some of the best off piste skiing once reserved for only the die hard ski bums, in this authentic, remote area in La Grave, France.

"La Grave is one of the best free ride spots in the alps"

Looking for some untouched, off piste, hard-core skiing, then La Grave is the place for you. For years La Grave has been known as a spot for only the die hard ski bums and although it has come a long way from its single hotel and cabin lift days you can still get a real sense of its genuine authenticity and remoteness. For those experienced riders amongst us, La Grave offers one of the best free ride spots around.

"Ski resorts Le 2 Alps & Montgenevre are close by"

During the week you will be able to acquaint yourself with La Grave’s glacier and its nearby mountains with one of the UIAGM-certified mountain guides. And, along with plenty of snow time you will also get the change to expand your knowledge in the Ortovox training centre. Depending on the weather and snow conditions, the free ride camp will aim to get you out riding for 3-4 days, 3-4 long runs per day, however there is also Le 2 Alps close by or Montgenevre as a backup to guarantee maximum time in your boots.

During trips where you will be hiking away, a tasty off-piste lunch will be provided to maintain maximum energy throughout the day or a peaceful break in the backcountry to rest those burning muscles. When in La Grave, lunch will be served in an idyllic mountain hut where you can sample some of the traditional French cuisine served there.

"Cosy mountain winter chalet with ski lift on the doorstep"

Throughout your stay you will be camped down in a cosy chalet/guesthouse close to the centre of La Grave. The accommodation offers the possibility of both single and double rooms and with the added of bonus of the lift being practically on the chalets doorstep.

3 reasons to choose La Grave:

  1. Amazing, untouched riding offering a true free-ride experience!
  2. UIAGM certified mountain guides and opportunity to train in the Ortovox training centre.
  3. Experience hard-core skiing during the day with a cosy bed and hot meal to come back to at night.
