Extended Description

Surf Camp Costa Rica Level 1

Who is This For?

Level 1 is perfect for those of you who have never surfed before, or have tried it a few times but never really gotten the hang of it. Costa Rica offers perfect conditions for those who want to get started and this level is all about having as much fun as possible. When you have fun, you improve. That’s how we see it.

Our experienced instructors will teach you to surf and encourage you to get better! Our focus is on you learning as much as possible, and we provide both practice and theory. At the end of your stay you will have good knowledge of surfing and fine foundations for your continued development. You will also have avoided the common beginner pitfalls.

A Typical Day

We usually wake up rather early to take advantage of the off shore winds that give us the best conditions. We eat some fruit, drink juice and coffee and then surf for two hours. When we‘ve had enough (you never really get enough), we walk back to the camp where our brunch is ready for us. Everything tastes so much better when you are hungry and surfed out!

You spend the day as you like, by the pool, in the jungle, on horseback, at the beach or doing whatever you feel like doing. In the afternoon you can surf again if you want, then we might grab a cold beer in the twilight, while we light the grill and wind down, or up, depending on the mood you are in.

Surf Camp Costa Rica Level 2

Who is This For?

If you are past practicing pop-ups on the beach and surfing in the white water, this is the course for you. This is a continuation course with focus on taking you out the back and surfing green waves. The focus is also on surfing left or right on the wave, instead of just going straight ahead towards the beach. Our experienced instructors will help you progress to the next stage and refine your technique. Everyone can learn a lot from getting feedback from someone who is more experienced. However, it’s all about having as much fun as possible. That’s why people surf.

Surf Camp Costa Rica Level 3

Who is this for?

This level is designed for those of you that have passed our level 2/can catch waist high green waves on your own and surf frontside and backside. You’re not yet confident in head high waves on your own but we’ll surf easy reefs, point and beach breaks with all the knowledge you need to feel confident to surf most breaks, focusing on entry and exit from the break, surf etiquette and which peak is the best for your level of surfing. This course has a max limit of 6 surfers per week.

A typical day

We alternate between surfing early and late in the day, and when we’re surfing early we’re up somewhat early in order to enjoy the mornings when the surf is the best. Some cereal and bananas, and then 2 hours of surf. When your body is surfed out we head back to the camp and have a well deserved lunch. The rest of the day is pretty much up to you; whether you want to stay by the pool, go to the beach, to town, or go on one of the many local attractions (beautiful beaches, jungle, horse riding, waterfalls etc.). We always try to squeeze in another surf session in the afternoon if we didn’t surf in the morning, and after this we serve dinner five times a week at the camp where we relive all the epicness of the day.
