These two courses take you away from the lifts to wild terrain, but you won’t have any worries because you’ll be accompanied by highly trained backcountry or freeride guides. With the freeride coaching package, you’ll learn the fundamentals of riding off-piste from a highly trained coach. Or choose the backcountry guiding package to learn all about backcountry riding as your guides instruct on avalanche safety, and how to use equipment like an avalanche transceiver, a probe, and a shovel.

The Snowboard Freeride Coachings and Backcountry Guiding trip in Obertauern and Schladming Plania are for advanced snowboarders who are interested in learning about the wonders of freeriding or backcountry with the safety of a guided trip. Half day (2.5 hours) or full days (5 hour) packages are available and courses will be fitted individually to the needs of the group.

This course is for advanced snowboarders who wish to experience these challenging snowboarding styles with the help of a guide, on spectacular but safe descents. You can book your guide for half day (2.5 hours) or for full day hours (5 hours). Guided tours and group courses are also available.

Before you head out for your backcountry adventure, you’ll visit the rental center to get required back country gear and to learn about touring equipment and safety precautions from the qualified snowboard guides.
