Intimate hostel style lodge with a 14 rider maximum

Backcountry snowcats is a small home grown company offering packages and custom trips to small groups of skiers and boarders looking for the ultimate in powder adventure. Located at an altitude of 5000 ft. just north of Whistler, and a 3.5 hour drive from Vancouver the Hurley Mountain lodge is the perfect base for backcountry skiing.

You arrive at the lodge following an exciting 40 minute snowmobile ride up the Hurley Pass road where you will find a small intimate hostel style lodge with a 14 rider maximum. The lodge is of a modular design with double occupancy rooms, bathrooms, showers and even a hot tub. With a fully complete kitchen and a communal living room which has satellite TV, and high speed internet you  are up in the backcountry but not cut off from the world. The lodge has a warm familiar atmosphere with everyone sitting down together to enjoy home cooked family style food prepared by the lodges own chefs who are as passionate about food as they are about the skiing.

Terrain is perfect for intermediates up to advanced skiers

The day starts with a hearty hot breakfast to provide the carbs needed for your days skiing, with lunch prepared by the chefs, but eaten in the snowcat between runs in order to get in the most skiing possible.

The terrain offers the perfect skiing for intermediates up to advanced skiers and snowboarders. Some of the places you will get to ski and ride are the “Railroad Pass” with its 2,000 ft. vertical drop through deep powder and trees, or the “Dental Basin” at 7,564 ft. always guaranteed to have the coldest dry snow anywhere in the region.

This is the perfect trip for intermediate to advanced skiers looking to get as much skiing in as possible with the cat leaving the base at 9am, and returning 1 hour before dark.
