Flight & Transfer

Make sure that you land in San José the day before the camps' start date. Should you stay on the camp, for example from the 4:th to the 14:th of February, then book your flight to San José on February 3, sleep the first night in San Jose and take the shuttle to the camp the next morning. Read more about flight and transfer below.

There are several ways of getting to Costa Rica. The flight time is around 12 hours from Scandinavia and you land in San José, the capital of Costa Rica. The planes mainly arrive in the evening so our guests usually spend a night in San José before going out to the camp. Of course, we will help you to book a hotel if you wish. For alternatives, take a look at or contact us at if you need our assistance.

After an overnight stay in San José it is time for the transfer to Santa Teresa. You have several alternatives. Regardless of which one you choose, the actual transfer is an experience in itself, since you travel from the high plateau down to the coast.
SHUTTLE BUS-The most convenient way to get to Santa Teresa is by shuttle bus. It picks you up outside your hotel, costs around USD 45 and takes around 5 hours. One bus leaves at 08:00 and one at 14:00 and you can buy your ticket in cash on the bus. On the return journey, the shuttle bus leaves Santa Teresa at 09:00.
LOCAL BUS - You could also take a local bus which costs about USD 10. This is also convenient, but it could be good to know some Spanish when you buy the ticket. The bus leaves from the bus terminal in San José at 06:00 and 14:00. From Santa Teresa to San José it also leaves at 06:00 and 14:00.
DOMESTIC FLIGHTS - You can also fly from San José to Tambor, which is situated within taxi distance of Santa Teresa. The flight costs around USD 90 each way.
