Make first descents of Iceland’s expansive ski area
Arctic Heliskiing’s next season is dedicated to finding terrain and runs never touched before by skis or snowboard. You are invited to be part of a team of explorers on an epic adventure with a variety of 4 or 6 day packages.
Throughout your trip you can expect to make first descents of Iceland’s expansive ski area, help name runs, and encounter completely untouched peaks and powder, all under the expert professional leadership of Arctic Heliskiing’s expert guides. By using their exclusive helicopter, Arctic Heliskiing’s programs give you access to over 4000 square kilometres of breath taking Arctic terrain, with trips suiting skiers of all ability. Positioned just below the Arctic Circle, with mountains rising out of the sea, the terrain has it all. Iceland’s wide open glaciers, narrow corridors, and the potential for you to ski all the way down to the ocean, delivers a unique ski experience.
Raven Hill Lodge in Ski Valley provides a luxurious base
The Icelandic season starts in February, with Arctic Heliskiing offering 4 and 6 day programs for semi-private groups of 8 to 12, or private trips, with exclusive use of their Helicopter, for smaller groups of 4 to 8. Dumps of snow continue until well into June, creating an environment for excellent corn skiing, and deep powder runs.
Located on the site of a Viking settlement from 850AD, Raven Hill Lodge in Ski Valley provides you a rustic yet luxurious base for the week, situated bang in the middle of Northern Iceland’s best ski terrain, with the closest runs a mere 3 minutes away. You will stay in traditional style cabins, enjoy the lodge’s spa, sauna and exercise facilities before spending the evening kicking back in your very own hot tub overlooking the valley below. With all food prepared by Arctic Heliskiing’s resident chef, you will experience the finest in Icelandic cuisine. Throw in amazing views of the Northern lights, regular volcanic activity, and midnight sun, you will be sure to find Iceland an incredible and unique skiing destination.
