Ski Progression Adventure in Chile

Itinerary

Starts and Ends: Santiago, Chile

Day 1: Fly into Santiago (airport code SCL) by 9:00 AM to meet the group and head to our hotel in Santiago. We will have an optional city tour available to you in the afternoon, or if you prefer to rest after your travels, enjoy relaxing around our beautiful hotels, lounges, heated pool and bar. Evening welcome dinner on the town with you guides at one of our select restaurants.

Day 2: Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Travel with your guides to Chile’s most famous ski area, Portillo Resort, for a beautiful road journey into the high Andes dotted with vineyards and rich farmland. We will spend the day at the resort taking you to our favorite runs with a focus on improving your techniques both on and off-piste, depending on your goals. We will enjoy a delicious lunch over looking the stunning Inca Lagoon at Tio Bob’s restaurant followed by more afternoon skiing at this iconic resort. At the end of the day we return to our hotel in Santiago (Travel time is about 2 hours each way) for another delicious dinner at one of favorite restaurants in the city.

Day 3: After our breakfast buffet we check out and head up to the mountain town of Farellones to ski one of the 3 Valle resorts; Valle Nevado, El Colorado or La Parva. After skiing we will check into a family operated ski lodge where we will relax for 4 nights, enjoy the wood fired hot tub, sauna, home cooked meals with local red wines and legendary Farellones sunsets.

Day 4-6: Continue to improve your skiing at the three local resorts near our hotel, exploring our favorite secret spots and enjoying our cozy mountain lodge. Night 6 is our farewell dinner celebration with guides and new friends.
*Note. On our July 21-27 tour we will return to Santiago after skiing on day 6, check into our hotel and have our farewell dinner at our favorite restaurant in the city.

Day 7: Departure day. After breakfast we will make our way out of the high Andes down to Santiago to say our goodbyes.

Departing tonight? We have set up an afternoon base at our cozy hotel where the trip began to relax before you flight home tonight. You are free to enjoy the hotel lounges and bar and head out for lunch before your included shuttle to the airport scheduled for 5:00 PM.

Summer Snow Escape Off Piste

Itinerary

Starts & Ends: Santiago, Chile

Day 1: Fly into Santiago, Chile (airport code SCL) by 9:00 AM, meet your group and PowderQuest ski guides and take an unforgettable drive into the mountains to Farellones, Chile’s original ski village. Check into our hotel and have a quick trip introduction followed by an avalanche safety course. Ski in the afternoon at La Parva or Colorado, depending on who has the better snow that day. The first day culminates over an amazing sunset and a fine bottle of Chilean wine before dinner.

Day 2-3: Every day starts with a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the day ahead. We will head up early to La Parva, Valle Nevado and El Colorado each morning where we will spend the day exploring the vast terrain that creates “Los Tres Valles,” (The Three Valleys). At the end of each day on snow we will enjoy some Chilean Apres Ski and followed by an outstanding home cooked typical Chilean dinner.

Day 4: Breakfast to start the day followed by more off piste skiing in the area before we head to our next location. In the afternoon we will pack up and take a road trip to one of Chile’s wine producing regions and the town of San Esteban where we check in to our lodging followed by an unforgettable dinner with local wines.

Day 5: Breakfast at our hotel before a short 4×4 drive up the dirt road to the snowcat accessed adventure at El Arpa SnowCats, Chile’s first cat ski operation, followed by an evening of Apres Ski and dinner.

Day 6: Breakfast at our hotel, then head up the road to ski Portillo, Chile’s most famous ski area. After skiing we return to Santiago for our last night celebration dinner on the town before saying goodbye to your guides and trip hosts that night. Overnight in our select 5 star Santiago hotel, ranked top place to visit by The New York Times!

Day 7: Departure day. Breakfast included at the hotel. Today you are free to sleep in or explore the city before you go to the airport to catch your return flight home that evening. The hotel front desk can arrange a transfer for you to the airport. Other options are Uber or PowderQuest can arrange a private transfer for you with an English driver if you arrange this with our office in advance. Jess McMillan’s Women’s Adventure Ski Camp in Chile

Camp Itinerary

Starts & Ends: Concepcion, Chile (airport code CCP)

Day 1: Fly into Concepcion, Chile, a 50 minute flight from Santiago where we will have a transfer take the group to our hotel for check in. The drive is through lush green farmland and the city of Chillan before climbing into the Andes. Meet Jess and your PowderQuest ski guide, followed by a free afternoon to unwind from your travels, relax in the hot springs, followed by a welcome dinner with Chilean red wine.

Day 2-7: Optional morning yoga (or get some extra sleep!), breakfast buffet, full days of freeriding around the vast terrain of the Nevados de Chillan ski area and endless backcountry. Jess will focus on various clinics and techniques to take your skiing to the next level, in a fun, comfortable environment. Explore the unique volcanic terrain outside of the ski area easily accessed via you alpine ski touring equipment. Don’t own touring gear? We will get you set up with a rental for the week.

Evenings after a full day of skiing are free to hit the spa and hot pools, grab a pisco sour or glass of Chilean red wine at Apres-ski. Dinner and nightly activities including karaoke, live music, dancing and more. Or you can relax in the hot springs and grab some sleep before another great day with the ladies tomorrow!

Day 8: Morning yoga, and our farewell breakfast saying goodbye to your hosts and new friends before heading off to Concepcion airport for your short flight back to the Santiago Airport.

Starts and Ends: Santiago, Chile

Day 1: Fly into Santiago, Chile (airport code SCL) by 8:30 AM, meet your group and PowderQuest ski guides and take an unforgettable drive through bustling Santiago and into the snow covered Andes. Upon arriving to the mountain village of Farellones, check into our hotel where we will be based for the next 4 nights. We have a quick trip introduction followed by an afternoon warm up at El Colorado ski resort. Before settling back into our cozy hotel, your guides will do an avalanche and mountain safety briefing so we can begin to explore out of bounds tomorrow. The first day culminates over an amazing sunset and a fine bottle of Chilean wine before dinner. Take advantage of our lodge’s sauna and outdoor wood heated hot tub and get ready for tomorrow’s adventure.

Day 2-4: Explore the three local resorts and endless backcountry around Farellones (El Colorado, La Parva, and Valle Nevado) with your guides, ending the day with one of the world’s most incredible sunsets, outdoor hot tub, delicious food and wine. Settle in to the lodge’s cozy beds or explore the ski village. Farellones is known for its nightlife so if you are up for it, we can head out to the nearby pubs and party with the locals.

Day 5: After breakfast we begin our road trip south to Nevados de Chillan ski resort where we will be staying at the ski-in, ski-out hotel, Alto Nevados. We will spend the day driving through Chilean wine country with a lunch stop at one of our favorite select restaurants. We arrive to our ski-in, ski-out hotel in the late afternoon, early evening. After dinner, we can enjoy the bar or natural volcanic hot spring pool merely steps away from the hotel.

Day 6-8: Daily breakfast buffet at the hotel to fuel up for the guided adventures ahead. We will spend the next 3 days off piste skiing, snowboarding and taking you to some of our favorite backcountry touring terrain in the Andes including an opportunity to ski off the top of a volcano, should conditions permit. At the end of the day we enjoy apres ski and dinners at the hotel. Each night the hotel features live music and other entertainment in the bar, or feel free to relax in the soothing hot springs to recharge for more exploring!

Day 9: It’s been an amazing adventure in the Andes. After breakfast and relaxing morning at the hotel we begin our return to Santiago to catch your flight home that evening.
