Fantastic Asia guides are dedicated professionals. All our guides have a lot of experience guiding in the mountains through out Central Asia and we are very proud to have these professionals working for us, as they rated among the best professional Mountain, Backcountry ski and Heli-ski guides in Central Asia.
Safety has always been a first priority at Fantastic Asia. Our staff takes refresher courses on an ongoing basis in avalanche hazard evaluation and stabilization, weather analysis and emergency medical techniques.
They approach their work with the highest degree of professionalism and dedication. Training courses and certification exams are designed to teach and assess guiding ability in realistic guiding scenarios, which involve exposure to significant hazards. Additionally, our staff are assessed on the following general categories: client care, risk management, technical systems, professionalism, instructional techniques, terrain assessment, application of guiding techniques, mountain sense, natural history and movement skills to ensure the highest level of safety and service.
For all our Kyrgyzstan heli ski operations we use Russia's made Mi-8 MTV (NATO reporting name "HIP") known as Mi-17 outside of Russia and which is commonly known in many countries of the world. It is powered by two turbo-engines and has an excellent safety record. The Mi 8 MTV helicopters used by Fantastic Asia for heli ski operations in Kyrgyz Tien Shan mountains carries two pilots - which means double safety, a flight engineer, 2-3 guides and up to 15 clients. All ongoing maintenance is provided by certified full time flight engineer. The helicopters are equipped with radio connected to guide's walkie-talkies to ensure communication between guides, pilots and weather station at the base. All helicopters carry extra medical kit as well as resque equipment.
We work directly with Helicopter wing of Kyrgyzstan Air Forces along with their highly trained pilots in order to deliver you a high standard of mountain heli travel. All pilots have many years of mountain flying experience and as such we guarantee you will be in good hands.

Our Backcountry yurts
Our backcountry ski tours in Irdyk valley are operated out of a cozy hand crafted traditional Kyrgyz yurts set deep in Kyrgyz Tien Shan mountains at 2600 metres above sea level.
The yurts provide 4 bank beds for 8 skiers/riders, a low round table and a wood burning stove at about a back wall for a comfy and warm stay at any weather. We can provide several cots for bigger groups on request.
The long drop outhouse is just several metres away to answer nature calls.
Banya - a type of Russian sauna is a place to warm up during cold evenings or just wash the powder sweat off before joing mates for dinner. Jump into a snowdrift or river to get the best of experiences.
Dinner is served in a large dinning tent. Stay inside or around a fire.
