Instructor course coaching
We have run instructor courses in Canada since 2002 and many of our high level coaches have been with us since the beginning. Their input has created an unique coaching philosophy, which will help your to break through your boundaries and give you every opportunity to succeed.
Fun and Focused training four days per week
Every week you'll get four full days of professional coaching from Canada’s leading instructors. This coaching will concentrate on your personal development and instructor skills, enabling you to pass on your passion to others. Our coaching will focus on:
- Group management skills
- Communication skills
- Technical knowledge
- Detection & correction skills
- Carve up the piste
- Master the moguls
- Glide through the trees
- Shredding the powder
- Hit rails, kickers and spines
Learn from the very best instructors
We offer the highest standard of professional coaching available. Our instructors are leading members of the CSIA and CASI and are also qualified instructor examiners. They are all strong advocates of the Nonstop program, but also have their own individual styles. We alternate instructors between groups each week so that you experience each of their individual teaching styles.
As one of the longest running, and most established, instructor training courses in Canada, our participants benefit from our ability to secure some of the most senior ski and snowboard instructors in the industry.
To date we have 100% pass rate for CASI and CSIA Level 1 on our courses. For those that go on to take Level 2 with us, we have an impressive 93% pass rate.
Assess your own technique with video analysis
Weekly video analysis will help you critique your own technique and develop your skills in ‘detection and correction’. Although you might not always like what you see, it really is an excellent way for you to work through your technical demons with your instructor.
We have access to video playback screens close to the slopes so you can view your footage shortly after shooting it.
A Carefully planned weekly timetable
We include 20-25 hours of on and off snow coaching for every week of the course. Group lessons take place for four full days a week. The fifth day is either used for 1:1 coaching sessions, additional courses, long weekend trips, free-riding and practising what you have been taught during the week.
From experience we know that this is the most successful formula for our clients and is one that we have developed through years of running the programs and from continual client feedback.
Learn more with Off-Snow technical sessions
To complement the on-snow coaching, we run a range of weekly technical sessions.
he sessions will help to broaden your knowledge of skiing, snowboard and instructing. Classes include: injury prevention, teaching techniques, lesson planning, technique theory, equipment design, equipment maintenance, boot fitting and a careers advice seminar.
Perfect terrain for training as an instructor
Part of the reason that we produce such high caliber instructors from our programs, is because the resorts themselves teach you how to ski or snowboard well. We have chosen three of the most exciting resorts that will continue to excite and push the boundaries of your technique for a whole season and beyond.
Our coaching will use the terrain to develop your personal technique in all conditions.
Learn with people of a similar standards
Our courses are large enough to split into several ability groups. That means you'll always be skiing or snowboarding with people of a similar standard, with coaching that is specifically targeted to your group.
Guidance and Experience for your own career progression
For those that are keen to go on and work as an instructor after the course, we offer invaluable help and advice over the course of your season and beyond. You'll have the opportunity to shadow ski school lessons and will be able to experience running your own lessons with our Community Days (check out the video here).
We'll also give you plenty of career advice and give you copy of our Nonstop Careers Manual, which contains all of the information you need about becoming an instructor, including a comprehensive list of ski school contact details.
