Red Mountain is THE hidden gem of Canada’s ski resorts. Being a fair distance from major airports, it's not a famous holiday resort, so the slopes are very quiet with little or no lift queues. You’ll have an amazingly authentic Canadian experience, as you settle in to Red Mountain and nearby Rossland, a stunning western-style relic of Canada’s gold rush. With plush slope-side accommodation included, you'll enjoy a luxury season without a luxury price tag!
Our Red Mountain snowboard and ski instructor course is perfect for riders who want to take their all-mountain technique to the very highest level. This is the challenging powder-laden mountain of your dreams!
Becoming an instructor in Red
The challenging nature of Red Mountain’s terrain will make your learning curve steep, but our team of high level snowboard and ski instructors will have you riding like a pro in no time. They’ll also teach you how to instruct, in preparation for your CASI/CSIA Level 1 and 2 qualifications. Having these qualifications under your belt from such a challenging resort will look amazing on your CV.
You couldn’t be in better hands.
As well as taking part in the most popular and highly refined instructor training programs on the market, you’ll be under the guidance of one of the most experienced instructors in Canada. Mark Impey, our Red Mountain Course Director, is a level 4 examiner and represents CSIA internationally, as a member of the “CSIA National Demonstration Team”. If that’s not praise enough, he’s also the former CSIA Western Program Director, overseeing all instructor training and exams. The fact that he’s chosen to make Red Mountain his home is praise to the quality of the resort!
Progression is always rapid for skiers in Red Mountain. With over 220 hours of instruction from our high level, experienced pros, you'll continue challenging yourself every week on more and more epic terrain. You'll be skiing with the grace and skill of an instructor in no time. Of course, you’ll also learn how to pass on your tightly honed skills onto others, so that you are fully prepared for your CASI/CSIA level 1 and 2 exams, and even extra freestyle or race qualifications, if you fancy going the extra mile. When you come to apply for instructor jobs in future years, saying that you qualified in Red Mountain under Mark Impey carries extra clout.
The alternative to instructing
Many people come to Red on our 11 week course simply to progress, ride and have fun. We’ll give you the option after your Level 1 course to join our “AMP” program instead of working towards your Level 2. With AMP, you’ll still have structure to the rest of your course, with goals to achieve, but you just won’t have to worry about any of the instructor training.
