Ride the deepest snow of your life

Hokkaido receives on average 16 metres of the driest and lightest snow on Earth virtually guaranteeing endless possibilities of finding the deepest snow of your life. Hokkaido offers some unique experiences such as night skiing in flood lit resorts and skiing into the might Mt Yotei's volcano crater.

At Sherpas Ride we want you to enjoy the full Japanese experience and our accommodation reflects this by being situated in the traditional are of Kutchan. A typical day will start with a cooked breakfast prepared by our chef while our guides read the weather conditions and decide where to go. A full day of riding the softest snow on earth is topped off by an Onsen and local Ramen for dinner and finishing the day with a nice cold beer.

Each day will be something new

Our Freeride Camp involves 7-8 days of lift accessed backcountry skiing (with short hikes) and an optional 1-2 days of backcountry ski touring. We are based in the Niseko area which makes exploring a different resort every day simple. From Rusutsu to Kiroro there are 11 ski areas to choose from meaning each day will be something new. To maximise your time with us, an itinerary is created for you but this is always flexible and is tailored to your needs.

Endless possibilities for bachcountry touring

There are over 500 volcanos on Hokkaido giving endless possibilities for backcountry touring, the hardest of which is a 4-6 hour tour up Mt Yotei. Don't want to bring your gear on the plane? We have a range of ski's, snowboard's, touring gear and avalanche equipment that is free for you to use.
