Smoke blower powder in British Columbia, Canada

Stellar Heliskiing is based in The Kootenays, an area of British Columbia, Canada renowned world-wide for its enormous quantities - over 18 metres a year! - of cold smoke blower powder. With 80,000 acres of terrain to choose from in the Selkirk and Purcell mountain ranges, you’re spoilt for choice with Stellar - drop into big open bowls in the high alpine or steep, perfectly spaced old growth forests; when the snow’s this good it doesn’t matter! With so much terrain available, there really is something for everyone: intermediate or expert, charger or mellow powder farmer, the Kootenays have what you’re looking for and the helicopter will drop you right at the top of it.

Great mountain views at the shore of Lake Kootenay

Stellar Heliskiing specialise in all inclusive, unlimited vertical trips, whether multi day or single day. Fully qualified guides match your desired terrain to your skill level and current conditions to ensure the very best experience possible. To maximise safety and minimise waiting, all trips work on a ratio of maximum 4 guests to 1 guide.

Accommodation is at the Kaslo Hotel, based in the heart of Kaslo town on the western shore of Lake Kootenay. A large selection of rooms and suites are available to choose from, depending on numbers. The rooms all come with a private balcony with either lake or mountain views, while the larger suites (sleeping 4-8 people) come with fully equipped kitchens. If you don’t fancy cooking, just head downstairs to the hotel pub and restaurant, known for its creative menu and wide range of draft beers.
