Entry Restrictions in Russia
Russia heavily restricts entry to its country.
Passengers must complete an Application Form and present it upon arrival.
Travelers need to present a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than 48 hours prior to arrival. The test result must be in English or Russian. A certified translation to Russian is accepted. Citizens must self-isolate until their results are known.
This does not apply to:
- Nationals of the Russian Fed.;
- Passengers arriving from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova (Rep.), Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. These must have a green QR code obtained in the app Traveling without COVID-19.
Travelers are allowed to enter for tourism purposes if are permanent residents of:
British nationals and nationals of Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, China (People's Rep.), Chinese Taipei, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Djibouti, Dominican Rep., Egypt, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Iran, Iraq, Ireland (Rep.), Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Korea (Rep.), Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macao (SAR China), Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Moldova (Rep.), Mongolia, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia (Rep.), Norway, Oman, Peru, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, USA, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Viet Nam;
Students with a written approval issued by their university.
This does not apply to:
Nationals and residents of Botswana, Eswatini, Hong Kong (SAR China), Lesotho, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe;
Passengers and airline crew who in the past 10 days have been in Botswana, Eswatini, Hong Kong (SAR China), Lesotho, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania or Zimbabwe (nationals of the Russian Fed. are exempted);
Nationals of the Russian Fed. arriving from Botswana, China (People's Rep.), Eswatini, Hong Kong (SAR China), Kenya, Israel, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, United Kingdom or Zimbabwe are subject to a COVID-19 antigen test upon arrival.
Passengers arriving from China (People's Rep.), Israel or the United Kingdom are subject to a COVID-19 antigen test upon arrival.
This does not apply to nationals of the Russian Fed.
Flights from Morocco and Tanzania to the Russian Fed. are suspended.
COVID-19 test results must be uploaded to the Public Services website within four days after arrival. Those testing positive for COVID-19 must self-isolate until a negative result is returned. Vaccinated citizens and those who have recovered from COVID-19 in the past six months are exempt from this requirement.
Passengers arriving from the UK are required to self-isolate for 14 days on arrival in Russia.
