Great surf holidays!
We booked a combined trip with one week in Las Flores and one week in La Libertad. Las Flores is about 2h drive away from the airport, situated on a cliff right on top of the beach with beautiful view over the surf spot. A very nice and relaxing place, calm and isolated, with a small village a couple of minutes drive away. We enjoyed the peace and seclusion. La Libertad is a very more lively place, especially in the weekends: situated in a building right at the seafront in the middle of a busy town, with a view of the local fishing/market pier and the waves of the surf spots. Right in front of the hotel is a relatively quiet surf spot, with the famous and more crowed Punta Roca only a few minutes footwalk away (visible from the hotel). La Libertad offers plenty of possibilites to party, especially on weekends (which can be heard in the hotel rooms until the early morning - but only on weekends, not during the week). Since La Libertad is less than an hour away from the airport, it was recommended to go first to Las Flores in order to enjoy our last day of holiday longer due to the shorter trip to the airport from La Libertad - which was a very good decision. We had the same guide during the two weeks. He is a very nice guy and was a great help to us. Familiar with all spots he recommended the best time and spot every day. When the swell was not good or waves were too big for us, he took us to nice places like waterfalls, on a boat trip, etc. Both places feature a restaurant (La Libertad even two), and we could choose freely anything from the whole menu - the food was delicious. All in all a very good trip and definitely worth to go for it!
