Kethi

I booked our trip with LUEX and i couldn't be happier. Accurate, simple, fast and reliable. Luex staff is always super helpful and friendly.

As for the boat itself:
The Kethi is a small boat that offers anything a small group of surfers can wish for. We were a group of five on the boat and we felt that the boat had the perfect size for us. It's not an huge boat, so you end not having a lot of options of where to hang around, but both the sun terrace and the front deck are big enough to accommodate six adults.

The rooms:
The boat has four rooms and each one of them as a private shower and toilet.
On reach room there are two beds. I think there were two rooms with a double and a bunk and two other with two bunks. Each room has two big fans but no Air Con. There is also a hatch that you can open and some small windows that you can open to have some air coming in. While it gets hot during the night (it's always hot in the Maldives) and you could easily have an air con, the fans will do the job perfectly. I've been to other boats with air con and sometimes it just gets too cold and you have to turn it off anyway. This is very important: you don't smell the diesel in the rooms!

The wheel house:
Inside the boat, you have the wheel room. This is where you have the Captain's place, a small kitchen and a table where you can sit if it is raining a lot. We had a bit of rain and we would sit by the dinner table by the rear side of the boat. There is one 32" tv inside. Since it is the place where the captain is, you can expect the other crew members to hang around. While the chef is cooking it will smell a bit.

Outside table:
On the rear of the boat there's a big table. It can easily accommodate 8-10 people. It's a nice place to talk, fish and hang. it is sun protected and in case it's raining, the crew can put some rain covers on so everyone's good.

Sun Terrace:
There's a sun terrace on the top of the boat. Cool to practice some jumps into the water, you have some chairs there to sit on. While we went there on the first day while traveling in between spots, it stopped going there because the sun is just too strong and you simply cook your skin if you stay there for too long.

The front deck:
This is by far the best place in the boat.
You have sun protection, a board rack for 6 or 8 boards (i'm not sure) and like by the dinner table, you can ask the staff to put the sun protection on. Besides a table with chairs there's also a seat next to the cabin's windows where you can sit or lay on.

The staff:
10 out of 10. Super friendly and helpful, they were always there to help us on whatever we would need and willing to fulfill our requests (like going surfing before sunrise.
The food was unreal all the time we were there and during our stay, it was obvious that the chef was trying to make every single meal a little bit different to the ones before.

General feedback:
This is a small boat. It doesn't have the luxury of some other boats, but if you want to surf and do some snorkeling, this is more than adequate. I think it is the perfect boat because you can have it with three other friends which means you're not bringing the crowd with you. I think the staff couldn't be any nicer. I Liked it a lot and will definitely come back to it!

We´ve been surfing around the Maldives for ten days in the Kethi in May. Although the surfing conditions weren´t as good as we´d like, the trip was truly amazing. The crew, the boat, the food, the captain´s knowledge of the environment and the fabulous places we´ve seen made the trip unforgettable for anyone of us. Certainly the maldivian experience has to be with the Kethi crew.
