The Latas Surf house is located in Somo a quiet beach town only 20 kms away from lively Santander. Offering freshly decorated rooms with antique Spanish furniture, and modern art complete with TV and iPod station. Most of the rooms are en-suite with private twins, doubles and a big bunk room that sleeps up to 8 people. Set in a lush garden just steps from the beach there are plenty of places to soak up the sun while waiting for that authentic Spanish paella or a burger cooked on the BBQ. In the evening you can relax at the Surf house with a few beers play some games on the PlayStation, or watch surfing movies projected onto a big screen. The Latas Surf house is 100% dedicated to the sport of surfing, and like to say they are a step above the rest with all their instructors being certified by the Spanish Surfing Federation.

With plenty of Atlantic swells rolling in from the Bay of Biscay, Somo is a year-round surfing destination with a long beach break making it a perfect place to learn especially in the summer months when you do not need to wear a wetsuit. For the brave boys head on over to the tiny island of Santa Marina where you can experience giant waves, and like most surfing destinations in Western Europe the winter months produce the bigger waves. Beginner to advanced surfer will all find their peaks in the various beach breaks.
