Explore New Zealand in search of perfect surf with the experts

New Zealand has long been synonymous with the words adventure sports, and that goes for surfing too where you will find a vast array of conditions, and weather patterns within its two distinct Islands. Based in Taranaki on Surf Highway 45, just a swift 45 minute flight from Auckland city. Our accommodation options range from 4 star character luxury to budget backpackers and beachside campgrounds. All other accommodation is spontaneously booked as you travel the islands in search of the perfect surf. Due to the remoteness of some of the locations you might have to spend the night under canvas.

Don't miss the quality food when on the road

Tama, the owner and chief guide is a City & Guilds internationally qualified chef, so you can be sure he will provide a healthy diet using local produce with plenty of carbs and protein to sustain you through an action packed day of surfing. New Zealand Surfing Adventures offers standard rates from 3 to 21 day road trips for small groups of 1-7 people only with surfing on both the North and South Island Possible.

Dunedin one of the country’s best surfing spots

The northern tip of the North Island has the warmest weather, and is where you can surf both the Pacific and Tasman Sea which doubles your chances for waves. This is also the home to one of the longest left-hand points in the world. In the South Island famous for its snowcapped mountain ranges and whale watching you have some of the country’s best surfing spots, with quality peeling right-handers that produce inside tubes. It is a little bit colder in the south, but do not be put off, surfing isolated surf breaks more than makes up for it.

The surfing in New Zealand is as varied as you will find anywhere, and with a small population once you get away from the cities and towns you will find beaches where you are the only surfers.
