Sri Lankan retreat that for surfers and yoga lovers
Away from the hustle and bustle of Galle road lies the beautiful 85-year-old Dutch style colonial villa of Sunshinestories. If you are looking for the perfect Sri Lankan retreat that is a haven for both surfers and yoga lovers alike, then you have come to the right place.
Villa is situated in the traditional village of Ahangama
The villa is situated in the rustic traditional Sri Lankan village of Ahangama, less than a 5-minute walk away from the coast.
Wake up to a tropical island sunrise, hear monks chanting in the background and start your day with a yoga session followed by surfing. If the breaks are anticipated to be good, there’s always the flexibility for you to do it the other way round.
Being close to the waves, surfers don’t have to miss out and waste time on finding the right breaks for them. There’s plenty to choose from (over 20 breaks) and there’s something out there for everyone! Staff at the camp know where all the hot spots are. They will sometimes organise impromptu trips, take you out on the jeep packed with a cooler full of cold beers so you can get away and enjoy some of the quieter beaches.
You can always venture into the village market just a few minutes walk away from the villa and experience the authentic flavours of Sri Lankan cuisine. Come back and relax on the hammock. Quench your thirst with the unlimited fresh coconut available and crash out onto a comfy bed, lined with top quality linen after a long day.
