Entry Restrictions in Costa Rica
No quarantine or PCR test required, but all travelers wishing to enter Costa Rica need to purchase travel insurance that covers their accommodations and treatment costs in case due to Covid-19 illness. This does not apply to Costa Rican nationals, residents and dual citizens.
This does not apply to passengers with a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival. Vaccines accepted are AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax) and Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty)
All travelers are required to complete a Pase de Salud before departure. This generates a QR code which must be presented on arrival.
Important! Confirmation of your insurance must be uploaded to your Health Pass (Pase de Salud) online.

Germany - Costa Rica Trip Specific Restrictions
Passengers from Germany are not required to quarantine after entering Costa Rica.
Unvaccinated passengers returning from Costa Rica will need to quarantine for 10 days upon entering Germany.
Fully vaccinated passengers do not need to quarantine.
